Job Title: Consultant – PMC Project
Location: Nigeria
Purpose of the Assignment
- The purpose of this activity is to train selected health workers on the pLDH RDT malaria testing and supervise the hand-on demonstration by the health workers in collaboration with Malaria Consortium team.
Scope of Work:
- Review and adapt the training slides and SOP for the case-control study.
- Conduct training of health workers on pLDH RDT malaria testing.
- Supervise hands-on training on blood sample collection and testing.
Required Outputs / Deliverable:
- Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the case-control study
- Slides presentation for the training
- Training report
- Supervision of hands-on demonstration report
Expert Profile:
- Ability to conduct malaria testing and use different types of RDTs
Qualifications, Experience and Skills
Essential:
- Hold a Degree in Laboratory or Clinical Sciences
- At least 10 years of professional experience in blood sample collection and malaria testing
- A Medical Laboratory Scientist with experience in malaria testing and use of different types of RDTs.
- Experience working with SMEP and health workers on the malaria elimination programme
- Familiar with national malaria elimination strategic guideline
- Proven experience in facilitating trainings for health workers.
- Familiarity with primary health care setting
- Familiarity with community-based study, in particular in the context of South West Nigeria
- Excellent communication skills
- Fluent in Yoruba language
Desired:
- A proven ability to work as part of a team.
- Good writing and reporting skills.
- Good presentation skills
- Excellent writing and oral communication skills in English.
- Experience of collaborating with government institutions and non-governmental organisations or academic institutions
- Experience in translating Yoruba Language into English Language that is understood by diverse audiences
