Job Title: Lead Counsel, Secretarial / Board Matters

Objectives
- Provision of secretarial assistance to the General Counsel on board-related matters including filing, indexing, archiving, and handling of the company’s document management system while ensuring record protection.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the General Counsel in providing effective, efficient, and qualitative corporate secretarial and legal services to NNEL Board and Management.
- Compile and update lists of Letters of Intent, approved Board Memorandum.
- Monitor and keep track of mails and books in the General Counsel’s Office and Law Library.
- General Supervision of the Registry in the Legal Department.
- Develop and maintain the Document Management System.
- Ensure reliability of records.
- Construct a reasonable level of protection to records (i.e., private, confidential, privileged, secret, or classified).
- Transfer records to historical archives.
- Ensure secure and appropriate records disposition.
- Assist in providing an efficient, effective, and reliable documents and records management system.
Educational Qualifications
- A University Degree in Law; Barrister at Law (BL) qualification is a must. Must have been called to bar.
- A Master Degree in Law or any other relevant post-graduate degree is an added advantage.
- Professional qualification and membership of relevant professional body is required e.g. NBA.
Experience:
- Minimum of 9 years relevant post qualification experience.
- Experience in the oil and gas industry will be an added advantage.

- Skilled in Oil and Gas Industry regulations and laws.
