NNPC Limited is the only entity licensed to operate in the country’s petroleum industry. It partners with foreign oil companies to exploit Nigeria’s fossil fuel resources.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Lead Counsel, Management Secretariat

Location: Nigeria

Objectives

  • Ensure quality and efficient Corporate Secretarial Services to the NNPC Senior Management and proper documentation and records for the Registry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise all corporate secretarial matters for Management Meetings.
  • Record and prepare/review Minutes of Meetings for Senior Management Meetings and generate action points and matters arising.
  • Review agenda for Management meetings.
  • Review Notices of Management Meetings.
  • Proffer Legal opinion.
  • Provide regular, formal and informal feedback on identified performance gaps of direct reports and proffer appropriate solutions.
  • Provide timely and quality reports on the activities of the Unit.

Educational Qualifications

  • A University Degree in Law; Barrister at Law (BL) qualification is a must
  • Professional qualification and membership of relevant professional body is required e.g. NBA

Experience:

  • Minimum of 9 years relevant post qualification experience.
  • Experience in the oil and gas industry will be an added advantage.

Competence:

  • Knowledge of Oil and Gas industry regulations and laws.
  • Knowledge of legal case handling.
  • Regulatory compliance enforcement skills.
  • Skilled in the principles of Corporate Governance.
  • Skilled in Presentation and Negotiation.
  • Excellent professional conduct and ethics.
  • Confidentiality.
  • Excellent Reporting Skills.
  • Relationship Management skills.
  • Oil and Gas industry knowledge.
