The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited is a dynamic global energy company with businesses and operations across the entire spectrum of the energy value chain. NNPC Limited is the only entity licensed to operate in the country’s petroleum industry. It partners with foreign oil companies to exploit Nigeria’s fossil fuel resources.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Lead, Materials / Equipment Estimator

Location: Nigeria

Objectives

  • Coordinate market intelligence gathering & cost estimation on materials and equipment as benchmark for contracting while seeking cost optimization opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform complete analysis and cost validations using internal and external benchmarking data, historical indices, and component benchmarking.
  • Mentor & support the review of the estimates prepared by other cost engineers to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with the scope of work.
  • Contribute to Lessons Learnt process throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate the analyses of required documents, blueprints, and project plans to gain a thorough understanding of materials and equipment for projects.
  • Determine what factors of production will influence the cost of a service or product.
  • Prepare material estimates and cost estimates for the product or service.
  • Create labor estimates for any project.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with company vendors and contractors via up-to-date estimates.
  • Use bid data to prepare detailed cost analysis.
  • Present prepared estimates to management and other stakeholders.
  • Compile and record actual costs.

Educational Qualifications

  • First Degree or its equivalent in Engineering, Geosciences, etc.
  • Membership of a Professional Body e.g., NAPE, NMGS, COMEG, AAPG, SPE, etc.
  • Experience in the oil and gas industry and in a similar functional area is an added advantage.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 9 years relevant post-qualification experience.
  • Experience in the oil and gas industry will be an added advantage.

Competence:

  • Skilled in cost management techniques.
  • Skilled in cost engineering on materials and equipment.
  • Market research skills on materials and equipment costing.
  • Cost evaluation and control skills.
  • Cost monitoring skills.
  • Knowledge of WBS/CBS systems.
  • Cost planning and reporting skills.
  • Business intelligence skills.
  • Planning and budgeting skills.
  • Knowledge of Oil & Gas materials/equipment costing.
