Job Title: Electrical Maintenance Electrician
Location: Riruwai, Doguwa – Kano
Employment Type: Full-time
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and enhance electrical systems and components, including fuses, lights, and wiring.
- Inspect, test, and diagnose issues with electrical systems and components. Regularly inspect electrical devices, including wiring, fixtures, and appliances.
- Perform all work in a manner that meets and follows electrical codes, blueprints, and standards
- Test electrical systems and components to ensure proper functioning
- Complete required documentation of repairs and service information
- Ensure adequate inventory of necessary supplies and parts
- Calibrate equipment to provided specifications
- Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems and components
- Troubleshoot problems and make timely repairs
- Perform preventive and routine maintenance on electrical systems and warn his superior about potential hazards.
- Should have hands on experience with meters.
- Document all your actions, including testing results and steps taken to resolve issues
- Understanding of principles of industrial, commercial, residential electrical systems.
- Complete tasks as part of a team or on your own.
- Follow all safety precautions and follow all electrical codes.
- Ensure that failures are quickly remedied.
- Prevent downtime by doing preventative maintenance.
- Ensure that motors and panels are maintained in a safe manner.
- Assist with electrical project installation.
- Operate a range of equipment, including motor control and switchgear, as well as conveyors and PLCs, in a safe manner.
Preferred Skills
- Completion of an Electrician Apprenticeship Program required.
- Completion of an Electrician Program at a Technical or Trade school preferred.
- 3-5 years of electrical experience is a plus.
- Comfortable reading and understanding electrical blueprints, schematics, and diagrams.
- Working knowledge of electrical theory, and the associated principles, materials, and equipments.
- Demonstrated ability to operate hand and power tools associated with electrical work.
- Ability to calculate basic mathematical problems.
- Willing to work overtime.
- Good time management skills
- Work independently as well as team.
